“April in Paris” is more than a song or a season. It’s a dynamic fashion event and luncheon in Paris, Tennessee. The event takes place at the Paris Country Club on Friday, April 22nd and benefits the Downtown Paris Association (DPA).
The show and luncheon feature local models in popular spring fashions from downtown women’s clothing boutiques including Boutique Mari Mac, Maggies, and Southern Roots Boutique as well as men’s fashions from The Toggery. Since the show is the Friday before The World’s Biggest Fish Fry Week, several of the models are former beauty queens and royalty from previous years. We are also pleased to have the 2015 Miss Tennessee, our own Hannah Robison, to join us as she meets and greets our community.
While fashion is the drawing card, this is a selling event, according to DPA Director Kathy Ray. Several members will have booths featuring gifts, accessories and personal services, including The Iron Place, Good For You Tea, Lura Lee’s of Paris, Merle Norman Cosmetics and more. Throughout the luncheon we have many door prizes from DPA members to be given away.
Ray encouraged men to make this a fun lunch date and freshen up their wardrobes, too. Guests will be served a cup of soup, Grilled lemon chicken Cesar salad with garlic toast and salted caramel mouse cake for dessert with coffee or tea. The Paris Country Club will offer wine and bar selections at an additional cost.
Ray was excited to be working with the Paris Country Club as the luncheon setting. She emphasized that, “Downtown Paris belongs to everyone in this community,” and encouraged others to “promote and support the Downtown Paris Association like this wonderful venue has done.
“Events like this allow us to offer dozens of free activities throughout the year,” she said. “From more than ten free Christmas events to five monthly Classic Car Cruise-Ins to Downtown Paris Week to Spooktacular and more, we help make downtown a place where folks can dine, shop and live locally as they make memories in a beautiful, historic setting.”
